Born in Osnabrück in 1968, I started an apprenticeship as an industrial commercial clerk in a group company after finishing school. After completing my training, I was taken on in the export department for products requiring technical explanation.

After completing my military service, I studied European Business Studies at the University of Applied Sciences in Osnabrück. During my studies, I spent a semester abroad at Brunel University near London and was offered a 6-month placement with British Airways at Heathrow. During this time I had my first longer-lasting experience abroad. I completed my studies as a Diplom Kaufmann (FH) (graduate in Business Administration).

After several years in the metal industry, I was looking for a new challenge in a medium-sized company at the beginning of the new millennium. There I gained a deeper and more detailed insight into all areas of a corporation than I would have had in a large company. Very quickly I took over responsibility for the sales department and successively expanded it by opening up new markets and further internationalisation. The company, located in Melle, Lower Saxony, is active in the production of rubber granulates and compounds for various fields of application, such as the cable industry, construction of sports and leisure floors, etc. As a former subsidiary of a US company, it was sold during my time as part of a LBO transaction. As a member of the management team, I gained extensive experience of the sale process of a company, especially in dealing with private equity, and became a shareholder.

After another sale of the company in Melle a few years later, I took over the position of a managing director of a company in the chemical industry in Bielefeld. The products of this polyurethane system house are used in a wide variety of areas such as the electronics industry and the construction of sports and leisure floors. At this point, synergies arose for me, which I was able to use excellently for the expansion of the business.

Soon I initiated a project to relocate the company from Bielefeld to Lemgo. I intensively managed this project for 1.5 years, from the planning to the final implementation. In the process, I learned a lot about project management, gained new experience about plant and construction planning as well as the interaction and coordination of individual trades in large-scale projects with the involvement of all the necessary authorities.

Subsequently, I started another major project and was able to conclude the acquisition of a foreign competitor after not quite 1 year of negotiations. Supported in the due diligence process by local experts, lawyers and tax advisors, this acquisition was also an enriching personal experience.

In the following years, I continuously expanded the client and partner network, especially in India, China, South East Asia and the Middle East, and developed a high level of intercultural competence.

The company, itself part of a group of companies with two other locations in Europe and one in the USA, has been characterised by dynamic growth over the years. As a result, there have been continuous capacity adjustments in the context of expansion investments, the expansion of the workforce and structural changes.

In 2019, together with my technical management team, I developed a concept for the construction of a new administration building and an additional logistics hall at the Lemgo site, which is to be implemented in the near future.

After very successful years and many experiences as well as some in-depth knowledge, I left the company in January 2020 at my own request in order to take on a new, exciting challenge: my independent consultancy service.

I am very much looking forward to supporting you very soon.
